EDITORIAL STYLED SHOOT AT VILLA PIZZO

DREAM WEDDING ON LAKE COMO

Feathers — chosen as a symbol of lightness and balance — informed the visual direction of this intimate styled shoot on Lake Como.

Recently published on Once Wed, the project was created in collaboration with wedding planners Bianco Bouquet and bridal designer Antonio Riva, bringing together a focused team of Italian creatives.

The design centred on carefully considered details: floral compositions by Barbara Botta built around greenery, eucalyptus, white lilies and soft blush roses; stationery referencing the villa’s ceiling frescoes; a Renaissance-inspired mise en place; and a wedding cake echoing the shapes of leaves and feathers.

Every element was developed to sit comfortably within the architecture of Villa Pizzo rather than compete with it.

The Location

Situated between Moltrasio and Cernobbio, Villa Pizzo is one of the oldest manor houses on Lake Como. Its restrained architectural lines, historic interiors and varied gardens make it a distinctive setting on the lake. The structure of the villa and the surrounding grounds offer both intimacy and scale, making it well suited to destination weddings where design and setting must work together rather than overpower one another.

Renaissance Inspiration

The Design

The visual concept referenced the Renaissance character of Villa Pizzo without replicating it literally. Stationery echoed the ceiling frescoes, while the mise en place introduced layered pastel tones and restrained gold accents. The wedding cake incorporated leaf and feather forms, reinforcing the initial inspiration in a subtle way. The intention throughout was coherence — allowing the decorative elements to complement the historic space rather than dominate it.
