FROM NEW YORK TO GAIOLE IN CHIANTI
A TUSCAN WEDDING WEEKEND
This vibrant two-day wedding celebration took place in the heart of Chianti, around the village of Gaiole in Chianti, an area known for its vineyards, historic villages and winding countryside roads.
The entire celebration was beautifully planned by Glam Events in Tuscany, who created a seamless blend between the rustic charm of the Tuscan landscape and the colourful richness of an Indian wedding celebration. Over two days, traditional ceremonies and lively festivities unfolded against the backdrop of the Chianti hills.
Pre Wedding Photoshoot
The destination wedding weekend of Lakshmi and Atul began with a pre-wedding photoshoot in the nearby village of Vertine in Chianti, one of the small medieval hamlets that dot the surrounding hills. A pre-wedding session during a destination wedding weekend is often a beautiful opportunity for couples to spend a quiet moment together before the celebrations begin. It also allows them to capture relaxed portraits in the Tuscan landscape — without the pace and formality of the wedding day itself.
Welcome Dinner in Rustic Tuscan Style
The pre-wedding dinner took place in the main square of Gaiole in Chianti, where guests gathered for an aperitif before enjoying a selection of freshly prepared pizzas. The evening continued with traditional Italian songs played on the accordion, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere for the start of the wedding celebrations.
The Wedding Day
The entire wedding celebration was organised by Glam Events in Tuscany. The following day the traditional Hindu ceremony and wedding reception were held at Capannelle Wine Resort, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and cypress-lined hills typical of the Chianti landscape.
The Hindu Ceremony
The traditional Hindu wedding ceremony took place in a Mandap overlooking the Tuscan countryside, set within the terrace garden of Capannelle Wine Resort. Guests were seated facing the surrounding vineyards and rolling hills, creating a beautiful connection between the ceremony and the landscape. Floral design was created by Il Fiorista Event Design Company, while the stationery was designed by La Precisina.

The Reception
After the ceremony, the groom changed into a black-tie suit while the bride wore a custom-made red evening dress for the reception.
Dinner was served in the garden, where two long imperial wooden tables were arranged with elegant décor: gold vases and candelabra, olive-green runners, white and magenta flowers with light blue accents, and white china paired with gold cutlery.
The wedding dinner was prepared by Guido Guidi Catering from Florence and accompanied by Capannelle’s 2014 Solare Chianti Riserva.
